Key Advantage of Our Steel Elevator Shafts

The bolted connection structure can be completely dismantled, allowing for flexible restoration of the space when the building is resold.

The steel structure is strong enough to support a fully glass shaft, providing a 360° view and enhancing the building’s sense of quality.

When additional floors are added to the building, the steel elevator shaft can be extended directly upward without the need for reconstruction.

By eliminating significant civil engineering, reinforcement, and maintenance costs, the overall project offers better value for money.

Not limited by building age, structural type, or space size, KON Express steel elevator shaft is suitable for both new and existing buildings.

Steel is non-combustible and heat-resistant, effectively blocking the spread of fire and enhancing the building’s overall fire resistance.

The high-precision, distortion-free shaft ensures the elevator guide rails remain vertically stable, resulting in quiet and smooth operation.

The outer frame is smooth, with customizable colors, and can be paired with various exterior decorative materials.
Customized Solutions for Steel Elevator Shaft
The surface of steel elevator shaft can also be finished in various colors, including black, white, titanium gold, rose gold, and more. Clients can customize the finish based on their preferences and the on-site environment. Whether you’re seeking a minimalist aesthetic or a color scheme that harmonizes with the building’s architecture, our customized solutions can bring your vision to life, transforming the elevator shaft into an integral part of the building’s design.

Corrosion Protection Processes for Steel Elevator Shaft
The entire steel elevator shaft undergoes sandblasting for rust removal, followed by the application of a high-quality anti-rust primer and outdoor fluorocarbon paint (or hot-dip galvanizing). This provides excellent corrosion resistance, ensuring the shaft remains rust-free for 15–20 years despite exposure to wind, sun, and rain, thereby significantly reducing long-term maintenance costs.
Precision-Engineered, Sturdy and Quiet
Our steel elevator shafts are constructed using high-quality carbon structural steel (Q235B grade) and are designed in strict accordance with building structural load specifications. The shafts offer exceptional load-bearing capacity and excellent resistance to wind pressure and vibrations. Even when the elevator is operating at high speeds, the shaft remains stable, ensuring a safe and comfortable ride. All components are processed in the factory using laser cutting or CNC punching machines, and are assembled via bolted connections or precision welding, with tolerances controlled to the millimeter. Compared to haphazard on-site welding, this high precision ensures the vertical alignment of the elevator guide rails, resulting in quieter and smoother elevator operation, with no abnormal noises.

Applications of Steel Elevator Shafts

Older buildings often lack reserved elevator shafts and have low load-bearing capacity. KON Express steel elevator shafts are lightweight and self-supporting, allowing for safe installation without the need to reinforce the existing structure—truly achieving “no damage” to the building.

Villas often have limited space and low ceiling heights, and thick concrete walls take up a significant amount of interior space while making construction complicated. KON Express steel elevator shafts can be custom-sized to fit the installation environment, taking up no living space and adapting well to the confined conditions of villas.

KON Express steel elevator shaft can be paired with glass to create a transparent, panoramic view, serving as a highlight on the building’s facade.

Remaining space in stairwells is irregular and narrow. Concrete make construction difficult and pre-reserving installation dimensions impossible. The flexible design of steel elevator shaft allows for full utilization of stairwell gaps to complete elevator installation.
Types of Steel Elevator Shafts
The selection of steel elevator shaft types depends on the elevator’s load capacity, floor height, and client’s specific requirements. Both types can be paired with shaft glass and accessories, and installation is very convenient. We will provide detailed drawings.
We typically use square tube types for elevators with a capacity of 630 kg or more. Based on the elevator’s load capacity, design, and floor height, the load is calculated to determine the appropriate square tube specifications. Common configurations include 150x150x5mm (6mm), 180x180x5mm (6mm), and 200x200x5mm (6mm). All components can be bolted together, ensuring easy installation and an aesthetically pleasing finish.
For elevators with lower load capacities and fewer floors, bent steel plate shaft is an ideal choice. A single sheet of steel is precision-bent into an L-shape using a high-precision bending machine, resulting in sharp, defined edges and a seamless, refined appearance. Like the square tube type, it features bolted connections for easy installation. This option is also more cost-effective than the square tube type and offers superior space-saving benefits.
Generally, if you already have the elevator civil engineering drawings, simply provide those. If the drawings have not been finalized yet, please provide the net dimensions of the elevator shaft, the load capacity, the number of floors, and the total height of the shaft.
The choice primarily depends on the elevator’s load capacity, floor height, and the client’s specific requirements. Then we design and recommend accordingly. For high-load, high-rise applications, we use square tube; for low-load, low-rise applications, we use bent steel plates. Both types have their own advantages.
The overall shaft is very sturdy and will not sway. We use Q235B steel in accordance with national standards, and the column spacing has been scientifically designed, resulting in structural rigidity far exceeding that of ordinary frames. Not only do we guarantee load-bearing safety, but we have also specifically reinforced the torsional resistance design to ensure that the elevator will not feel unstable even during high-speed operation.
Whether the shaft rusts depends on the anti-corrosion process. We use sandblasting for rust removal + zinc-rich epoxy primer + outdoor fluorocarbon topcoat. Fluorocarbon paint has extremely strong weather resistance; when used outdoors, it will not chalk or rust for 15–20 years.
Installation is very straightforward. Our drawings are highly detailed, with dimensions clearly marked for each section. The shaft uses a bolted design, and the screw connections make installation even more convenient.
